🗽Government Shutdown 2019

When a family goes without food when a school is unable to fund the national school lunch program, when pregnant women go with out nutrition during their pregnancy and after with the newborn and the big one of 2018 tax returns being delayed because of a government shutdown.

These are all possibilities if the government completely shuts down and we have to rely on local governments and self sufficiency programs.

I bring this news to the attention of the few that read my posts because if you know what I do for a living then you know that I sometimes have to answer questions like this for the daunting.

These programs all receive funding through federal agency’s funding. However, we also know that funding is allocated through the Congress – A congressional body made up of state officials that are already fighting through committees to further fund self sufficiency programs – and we also that a portion of those funds are allocated for emergencies as part of a fiscal annual budget of June to June.

Most agencies operate on a fiscal budget and are funded well past the new year. But you can imagine how difficult it was to explain this and actually it should be the responsibility of the constituent to do their research but given that there are great resources, in my town like the CBO that I work for whom daily try to help provide verifiable facts to the community and not rumor or myth.
