Community Action Network on Healthcare

The right winged political consortium will have you listen to the message that health care premiums are going up due to Obama’s Affordable Care Act. if you are still prone to not get health insurance than you will have to bear with me. This is to remind those that do not recall having to pay an actual percent of income for health insurance and furthermore, an increased amount for dependents.

Let’s review what the affordable care act is and how it affects the health industry. Insurance in the U.S. is a fairly new idea in America and it was not till 1999 did the government really take a look at how the insurance companies and banks we’re setting the price index for any type of insurance. Thereby our Senate established the Modernization act of 1999.

The Affordable Care Act publication in the American Medical Journal; gives some insight into the hope for continued health care in America.

If we look back to 2007 before the Obama campaign as an employee reviewing employer sponsored health insurance you may recall paying as high as 12 to 16% of your salary for the cost of health insurance.  Now the gubernatorial regulation is less than a %9.5  of your salary or you have the shop option.

Nevertheless, let’s consider the argument of why the insurance companies are lobbying a price hike. “The increased amount of patient intake is higher now than what the insurance companies had prepared for”… Thus, the reasoning behind a price increase.

This was the consequence of making health insurance affordable so that, more people could receive health care. Not all insurance companies participate in the exchange and those that do; are only regulated to provide a level of service that is affordable to a certain income bracket. Beyond that the government provides a premium assistance to provide a subsidized health care. Health insurance was never affordable!

Now let us consider the drop that later occurred in the price index from the 12-16% of previously employer sponsored health insurance that now; is down to a ceiling of 9.5% and the scare of the increase in premiums. Health care rises every year and although that is according to the price gauges and the demand of the general public. Over the past 10 years we have not received and increase of more than 58% since the economy tanked and for profit company’s became profiteers of societal needs. But that’s America gotta love it’. However if we examine that 58% increase and republican extremist claims that the ACA will cause increase in premiums well premiums are simply the response to the demand so under that logic these extremist would prefer there not be a health care plan that expands to those in need and a plan for those whom may find themselves in need.

Kind of like the vets returning from WW2 and families needing Medicare and now the expansion of Medicaid. So, even if there has been an increase of 4% something every year in comparison to the price increase of everything else then let’s have a more truistic world view of the National standard than that which could have existed before the modernization act and actually did thanks to Reaganomics or that may have continued to exist where only the wealthy, disabled or elderly receive regular care.

Are we to return to where the banks are in control of our health our lives?

Is that what is meant by “Let’s make America Great Again” I say thank you but I’m aight!!! Cause I’ve seen house losses due to medical bills. Because I have experienced the health system with out health insurance and know how poor the after care becomes with no insurance.

I can get behind more jobs more opportunity but let’s shit or get off the pot as my pops would say. Health care reform has created more opportunity so now more revenue is generated.

If the real concern is the demand and the complaint the unpreparedness of hospital care that more staffing or administrative needs arise then I say that there is a measure on the ballot to require Medicaid patients to contribute to the community view of us all having the inherent responsibility to care for one another. #proposition52
