Update to the family travel blog of random destinations. So far since; the birth of our daughter Gypsy we have only traveled to short distances because of the time of travel. Hence, most of the postings are or probably will be about trips to places locally. Which given that we live in Southern Cali it’s not as though we will run out of places to go.

Recently, we have traveled to Long Beach for not such a good occasion, and the travel there with the kids was great, because it was one of those where they just fell asleep most of the way there. The way back was hellacious though, because our daughter Gypsy was over the car seat, and over the long drive, and was just ready to be in her boppy pillow position @t🏠.

We actually had planned a vacation and I actually took some time off to go on a family vacation, but then were told by Gypsy’s gastroenterologist that she may be aspirating and so my birthday vacation became a week at the hospital instead #radyschildren #ronaldmcdonaldhouse.

Luckily though we were invited to a family birthday party around the same time that I had planned our vacation and so we travelled to a bowling alley 🎳 in Pasadena where we booked a room for the night.

Now you would think this would be boring. Pasadena who the hell travels there for a vacation, nevertheless to me it was a great time. I didnt feel the oddity of going in search of groceries or feel at a loss everytime I got behind the wheel to go somewhere.

I guess staycations are more fun than you realize and the vacation is in trying to get away from your normal day to day to actually try something outside your comfort zone.
